Idea Lifecycle
How ideas move through Scenius
In Scenius, ideas are not treated as products to be optimized or problems to be solved. They are treated as living inquiries—capable of evolving, pausing, resurfacing, or remaining unresolved.
The Idea Lifecycle exists to describe how attention moves, not to prescribe outcomes.
Entry: Ideas as Invitations
Ideas enter Scenius as invitations to explore. They may arrive as:
- Questions
- Hypotheses
- Observations
- Open tensions or paradoxes
At entry, ideas are not judged for correctness or completeness. They are considered for a simpler criterion:
Does this idea invite meaningful exploration?
Only ideas that show early signs of curiosity and inquiry move into Scenius Games.
Exploration: Shared Attention
Once inside a Scenius Game, ideas are explored collaboratively. They are examined side-by-side, allowed to branch, and revisited over time.
“These ideas are explored side-by-side to understand where curiosity and insight concentrate.”
Exploration is paced intentionally. Participants are encouraged to stay with questions rather than rush toward answers.
Some ideas deepen quickly. Others unfold slowly. Some reveal limits early. All of these outcomes are informative.
Concentration: Where Curiosity Persists
As exploration continues, attention naturally concentrates. Ideas that consistently invite engagement—across participants and over time—signal exploratory potential.
“These ideas were selected for their ability to spark sustained curiosity and meaningful inquiry.”
This concentration is not enforced. It is observed.
Scenius does not decide what should matter. It notices what continues to matter.
Advancement: Another Layer of Attention
When an idea demonstrates sustained interest and the capacity to support further inquiry, it may advance.
“This idea has been advanced to the next exploration round due to sustained interest and exploratory potential.”
Advancement grants the idea another layer of collective attention. It does not imply:
- Validation
- Truth
- Completion
It simply reflects that exploration remains worthwhile.
Dormancy: Rest Without Erasure
Some ideas naturally enter dormancy. They may:
- Reach a temporary plateau
- Lose collective momentum
- Require new context or perspectives
Dormancy is not failure. Ideas in Scenius are not discarded. They remain visible, traceable, and available for return.
Many ideas become more meaningful when revisited later.
Return & Recontextualization
Dormant ideas may resurface. New participants, new questions, or new contexts can restore relevance and curiosity. When they do, ideas may re-enter exploration—often in a transformed form.
The lifecycle is non-linear by design.
No Forced Conclusions
Scenius does not require ideas to conclude. Some inquiries remain open indefinitely. Some fragment into multiple directions. Some quietly inform other explorations without recognition.
This openness is intentional.
Not everything valuable resolves. Not everything valuable should.
What the Lifecycle Protects
The Idea Lifecycle exists to protect:
- Early-stage curiosity
- Intellectual patience
- Signal over noise
- Exploration without performance pressure
It ensures that ideas are not rushed, erased, or prematurely judged—only attended to with care.
